FujiFilm FinePix HS20 EXR, F550/F500 EXR digital cameras land at CES 2011

Fujifilm has unveiled a bunch of new digital cameras at CES 2011 today and one of the new ones is the FinePix HS20 EXR. This camera has a new 16MP EXR CMOS sensor and a massive 30x optical zoom lens. That lens covers the equivalent of 24 – 720mm. The rear LCD of the camera is 3-inches wide and the cam has 1600% wide dynamic range.

Other features include 8 fps burst shooting, HD movie mode, anti-blur technology and a host of other automatic features and settings. The HS10 is a similar camera with a 10MP resolution compared to the HS20 16MP resolution. The dynamic range of the HS10 is 400% and the HS10 lacks the SDXC compatibility, film simulation modes, EXR processor, TTL flash, and remote release compatibility that the HS20 offers.

Fujifilm has also pulled the F550 and F500 EXR cameras out of the shadows as well. Both use a new 16MP EXR CMOS sensor. They also has 15x optical zoom, 3-inch LCD, anti-blur modes, RAW format support, and HD movie capture modes along with lots of film simulation modes and automated settings. The difference between the two is that the F500 lacks GPS functionality and anti-blur tech. The F550 shoots bursts at 8 fps and the F500 only hits 3 fps in bursts.

New Casios: High-Speed Burst Modes, 1,000-Shot Battery Life

Casio has just announced several new models of its Exilim digital camera, ranging from budget-priced snapshot cameras to high-powered zoom, super-fast cameras.
The Exilim EX-ZR100 is Casio's new flagship camera, a 12-megapixel digital camera with a 12.5x optical zoom lens and several interesting burst modes. The camera can capture shots at 1,000 frames per second by cranking the resolution down to 224-by-64, or shoot 480 fps at 224-by-160 or 240 fps at 432-by-320. It can also record 1980-by-1080 video at 30 fps, and take up to 30 10-megapixel stills at 40 frames per second. The ZR100 also includes in-camera HDR technology, which can combine multiple exposures to produce the best picture when shooting in poor lighting. The camera will be available in March for $299.99.

Casio also announced a new high-zoom camera that boasts an impressive battery life. The 16-megapixel Exilim EX-H30 sports a 12.5x optical zoom lens with a 24mm (35mm equivalent) wide angle and, according to Casio, can take up to 1,000 photos on a single battery charge. It lacks the EX-ZR100's burst modes or 1080/30p HD video mode, but it can record 720p high definition video, and features aperture and shutter priority modes for skilled users. It will also ship in March, with a retail price of $249.99.
For more budget-minded shooters, Casio also unveiled two new, inexpensive models, the Exilim EX-ZS5 and EX-ZS10. Both cameras can record 14-megapixel stills and features 5x, 26mm (35mm equivalent) zoom lenses. The former can record VGA video and will retail for $99.99, and the latter can record 720p high definition video and will retail for $119.99. Both cameras are scheduled to hit stores in March.
